WHAT WE BUILD

Don’t take
our word for it.

A school day brought into focus. A concept that clicks. A message finding its way. Here is the work, up close.

02 / Understand

Understand

The moment
it makes sense.

More than the answer. A way to get there. Try an excerpt of the public exercise, one clue at a time.

A little room to thinkMATHEMATICS / LIMITS

An excerpt of Understand’s public exercise, presented here. Your progress is not saved.

What does this approach?limt→0arctantt=?

0? Careful: numerator and denominator both approach zero. That is an indeterminate form.

01A first hint

Set u = arctan t. Then t = tan u. As t approaches 0, what happens to u?

02Change your point of view

The fraction arctan t / t becomes u / tan u. You may recognise the limit of tan u / u.

03Follow the reasoning

arctan is continuous at 0 and arctan 0 = 0, so u approaches 0 with t. For t ≠ 0, arctan t / t = u / tan u.

Since tan u / u approaches 1, its reciprocal u / tan u also approaches 1. By composition:

limt → 0 arctan t / t = 1

One clue, then another. The answer comes with the reasoning.

03 / Connect

Connecfy

Some code.
A queue.
A message.

An API, an Android gateway, a SIM card. Explore the infrastructure between a request and a send.

Behind the message
The journey of an SMSILLUSTRATION / NO MESSAGE SENT

Open a stage to explore the mechanism. This diagram connects to no device.

  1. 01Your application
    POST /api/v1/sms/send/

An HTTPS request submits an SMS to the API.

  2. 02The Connecfy queue
    queued

The API validates the request and queues the message. Accepted does not mean sent.

  3. 03The Android gateway
    poll → sending

The paired phone polls the queue and picks up the work. It is not woken by a push notification.

  4. 04The SIM card
    sent / failed

The phone sends through its SIM and the mobile network, then reports the result to Connecfy.

What if the phone is offline?

Without a gateway poll, the message waits in the queue. The API alone cannot guarantee delivery: phone availability, network coverage and the SIM plan matter too.

The documented model polls periodically, roughly every 20 seconds. A “sent” status is not proof of receipt.
